Cuffed

The cuffed slacks seem to be oh so comfy these days. Only the brave, the few and the lucky can strut a pair without looking frumpy and/or short, bordering on effortlessly good looking a la Keira Knightley.

Since the look is tempting me, I might borrow a pair of my mom's and cuff 'em up to try this look. I'm not sure if I have the guts to pull this off in school, but if my what-the-hell-who-cares side kicks in , I would totally go for it. Yay or nay? :)

Chasing has taken its toll

I survived a quiz in THEORYO and a quiz and group report in PUBLIRE today! I thought 2:30PM would never come, hahaha.

On a roll

Lauren Conrad is seriously on a roll. She's going all around US for her book signings and she really looks good in everything she's been seen in lately. What's cool is that her sense of fashion comes from her and not from a stylist, making it more attainable in some way.

The printed maxi dress looks gorgeous!

Makes me want to buy my own leather jacket. :))

She obviously went on a Topshop spree!

I like this tweed dress! Simple and classy at the same time, which is my kind of stuff.

Black and white combo. 'Nuff said.

I've been forever looking for a white, off shoulder top 'cause it seems so effortless to wear.

Not even a pseudo fever can stop me

My hosting stint went great! The people from EconOrg were super nice and the program was very smooth; my co-host Jacob and I had no problems at all. I had an excuse to dress up, put on some make up and be a little vain... even though I was feeling a bit feverish earlier. I clean up good! :P

Thanks Jacob!

Thanks Kringle!

Thanks Mimi!

Thanks Cee!

Thanks EconOrg!

After all of this is done, who would you rather be?

It's been a hectic school week for me, which is the reason why I came to a decision not to blog until today. I really wanted to drop by but aside from not having the time, I didn't want to flood my blog with useless rants.

Anyhoo. Here are some goodies I got since Monday!

Green and White 2010 registration kit. Hmm. I'm not sure if applying for the 2010 yearbook is a good thing when I'm not yet even sure if I'll graduate by 2010. On the other hand, I did get the info that I could apply for the yearbook staff. I'm applying for the photo team and for the office team (since I'm quite OC), so keep your fingers crossed for me, okay? :)

My mom handed me down this gift that she got from her officemate who never fails to give a sosyal gift, be it her birthday or Christmas. However, my mom's skin is sensitive, so I get to keep the hand me downs like this amazing bath cream from M&S's Autograph in Blush line. I love it 'cause it complements my perfume from the same M&S line. I'd probably use it for special occasions though, so I'm still sticking with my old school J&J milk bath.

I spotted this vest last week in Tomato's display and I've been drooling over it since then. I told myself that I'd have to get one 'cause it's not the typical, boring vests that I usually see. This one's got details: soft denim over plaid, held together by leather straps plus lotsa buttons to boot! Admittedly, it's not something I would normally wear because it's got that certain attitude that's far from my personality. But hey, it has that 90s vibe which fits a 90s kid like me. Yeah, I'm cool like that. :P

I made another stop at the mall earlier today 'cause I needed something futuristic for my hosting stint tomorrow. I looked up to Lady Gaga for inspiration: bold details or bold accessories. Of course I wasn't going for the crazy sunglasses, dance moves and no jeans look, that's over the top for me! I wanted something attention grabbing yet realistic and wearable at the same time. When I saw the blue-gray cropped jacket hanging on the rack, I knew it was the one. The glittery specks and triangular lapels give it that perfectly edgy feel that I was looking for. Thanks SM Department Store for being so dependable!

Now with all these goodies to keep me going, all I need is to survive the remaining days of this week and have a great stint tomorrow. Again, keep your fingers crossed. :P

Maybe I'm just like you

Chanel Cruise 2010

I like how the fashion show is an unconventional one - it took place right by the beach! Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by none other than Coco Chanel herself and Venice, one of her favorite vacation spots. Some of the clothes aren't that wearable in real life but the whole collection has that certain magical element that mesmerized me. And the music's superb too, no?

Who's Your Daddy?

♥ Happy 19 years of fatherhood to my dad! :)

All Grown Up

Emma Watson shows a different side of her in the W Magazine June '09 issue, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.

Talk about fasyon! She looks so far from the Hermione character that she plays... But then she did grow up in terms of fashion, especially last year when she started scoring front row seats to major fashion shows like Chanel.

As if being on W isn't enough, she also snagged a Burberry F/W 09 campaign and was photographed by the famous Mario Testino.

Such a lucky young lady, with all the fashionable breaks at 19!

Brunettes do it better

Lauren Conrad leaving a Harper's Bazaar shoot, snapped by the paps last Tuesday. Her whole outfit looks fierce, with the bejewelled jacket and the sky high heels. She also donned a wig for the shoot, which explains her new 'do. I think it looks great on her though, it gives her an edge.

Everybody's Favorite

I always get the nicest comments when I'm wearing this jacket, a great buy from the ever reliable SM Department Store. I remember thinking about it for a long time and finally buying it when it ended up in the sale racks. :))

Blue jacket from SM, men's tee from SM, leggings from SM, shoes from Herbench

So tell me, do you see me?

Funny how it just keeps happening, especially when I least expect it. I never really trusted the law of attraction and its power... Well, until this week. I wasn't taking it seriously 'cause I knew there's a small chance I'd see him. But then he'd just pop out of nowhere - Miguel, Central Plaza, Yuchengco - and I'd happen to be there the same time he's there. Who knew the campus can be that small?

I think life's just giving me enough ammunition for next week's bloody activities, haha. I'm not complaining! At least I have something to keep me going, right? :))

Treasure Hunting

Today's been great! I only had one subject, I bumped into him after that class, I had a decent lunch and I hung out with my friends. Major bonus? I visited the ukay-ukay in Harrison Plaza and I scored some good finds for just 350 pesos!

I've been dreaming of a basic striped tee for quite awhile now, so I had to buy one. There were a lot of color combinations but I fell in love with the pale blue and white combo. It'd be great for lazy-I-don't-know-what-to-wear days!

I didn't really like this mini dress but I kept checking it out. The print reminds me of my childhood days and the dresses I used to wear. It's probably meant to be worn as a top but it can pass as a mini dress for me 'cause I'm small, haha.

Aaaand the best buy I got for my first ukay-ukay trip: a black jacket/blazer!

I love how it's so kickass with its gold details and zippers! It's probably the closest thing I could get to a leather jacket - which is perfect 'cause it's practical, wearable and I got it for 120!

Hurray for cheap and chic finds!

Law of Attraction

Monday is the longest day I have in school. I have classes from 11:20AM to 5:50PM, leaving just the right amount of time for me to go from Miguel (GENDERS) to Yuchengco (TREDTRI) and back to Miguel (COMMTEC) with no lunch break at all.

Bumping into you makes everything worth it though. Now, how about you smile back the next time I smile-slash-see you? Not only would it make my Monday, it would make my whole week!

We'd be so less fragile if we're made from metal and our hearts from iron

My usual hangout since school was suddenly cut off due to A(H1N1)

Our study room has been my coccoon for the past days... not because I've been studying during the quarantine-slash-vacation, but because I've been online pretty much the whole time. It's been uneventful and unproductive, but I know I'd definitely miss sleeping in, having decent meals and being carefree. I'd have to wait another three months before I get this kind of breathing room again. :P

Coming and going our separate ways

I was chatting with one of my high school friends, who was updating me awhile ago on some of my friends and some issues that I haven't been informed of.

It all began with the simple kamustahan, then everything else came flowing in. I realized how much I missed, with me being MIA most of the time. I can't really blame them for not updating me - it is awkward to text out of nowhere just to tell me that they started smoking or they're dating someone new or that they partied here and there without me. I don't update them much either, but my life is so accessible here online that they could backtrack to almost everything that happened to me in the past two years.

I understand if they feel like I neglected them in one way or another because I rarely hang out with them or even talk to them through calls or text messages. However, I don't like how some people come up with certain assumptions about me. Yes, I don't get to spend lots of time with them as I used to in high school but other than that, I can say that I'm still pretty much the same person I used to be.

Then again, maybe that's just how I see myself. I guess I've outgrown some people or they've outgrown me along the way.

Live like you're dying and never stop trying

I spent some time in the historical town of Kawit today! I took photos in celebration of the national independence day, something I've never done before. It was fun, but I ended up burning myself under direct sunlight for two hours. :P

So close to something that will be left unknown

I rarely leave the house without a bag or a small purse but today called for a ditch the bag episode. My mom suggested that I go sans the bag to avoid pickpockets and so I ended up bringing just three essentials: money, cellphone and hanky. The girl scout in me got paranoid, haha.

Anyhoo, here's what I wore. I wanted to pile on necklaces but I changed my mind at the last minute:

Bench slim tee, Herbench dark wash skinny jeans, Herbench sneakers

Gah. I hate the fact that I'm wearing one brand head to toe... But they have the most comfy basic stuff, if I may say so. Plus, they come cheap and easy! :))

Because I'm getting old

Hello, this is real world knocking on your door. Are you ready yet?

Seeing this in my email's inbox made me realize how time really flies by. And yes, I'm getting old - not that old, but old to the point that I need to do some growing up before I step out into the real world.

If everything goes well and the department would give in to my batch's request, I'd have three terms left and I'd be graduating October 2010. Every inch of fighting spirit that I have is counting on that. If not, well, I'd have five terms left instead of three and I'd be graduating on 2011.

You're just the one that I've been waiting for

I got tagged by Cee, Kay and Lexie in Facebook. :P

So long, pink tutu!

I once had an aspiration of being a ballet dancer as a four year old. I had that aspiration not because I wanted to do pirouettes and jetés but because I wanted to show off the cute pink tutu. Of course, I no longer aspire to wear such costume but seeing Rajo Laurel's new collection took me back to my ballet dancing, er, pink tutu wearing dreams.

The new collection, aptly named, At the Ballet, showcases ballet inspired pieces in yummy colors of soft pastels and nudes. They seem light, easy and versatile, the kind of clothes that's easy to layer and to mix and match. Even better, they evoke grace and femininity, perfectly capturing the essence of a ballet dancer.

Now, after seeing what At the Ballet has to offer, who would want to wear a pink tutu? I sure don't! Head over to House of Laurel to get up close and personal with the new collection - the store is located at 6013 Villena St., cor. Manalac St. Poblacion, Makati City.

Project Quarantine

The past four days of my extended vacation-slash-quarantine consisted of ultimate bumming sessions. I had three productive activities: washed the dishes, cleaned out my magazine junk and fixed my blog. Activities that, well, didn't really require much effort to me.

To avoid further boredom and laziness, I came up with a list to keep me busy until the 14th:

- Get moving. Time to sweat out the extra baggage!
- Burn DVD copies of the mini film my friends and I did last term. Talk about long overdue, eh?
- Get creative with my magazine clippings. I'd probably do another collage or a little something-something.
- Organize my closet and dresser while I still have the time to sort my stuff out
- Download new music! I recently checked out this band named Metrics as recommended by my classmate but I'm craving for mooore.
- Search for more fashion editorials online. OD'ing on fashion, anyone?
- Do some advance reading for school. Bleh, nerd.
- Tinker with Adobe Photoshop
- Have my braces adjusted for the nth time. I was supposed to go last Friday but the weather was unbearable.
- Sleep early so I could get rid of my eyebags. Poor concealer needs to rest.
- Get snap happy with Pepper. I'm planning to attend the Independence Day celebration in Kawit this Friday!

White Beauty

I spent the whole morning ripping out my old US Vogue magazines, something that I've planning to do ages ago. They're dated 2006 and I figured they're ready for one of my favorite tasks - ripping the pages calling out to me.

While going through the pages, I noticed how the February 2006 issue lacked substance. It all changed when I got to the latter pages, where I saw one of the best fashion editorials I've ever seen.

At first glance, it looks bleak and boring but give it time and the delicate details sink in. Everything's beautiful, whimsical and elegant without trying too hard!

Wedding Bells

I was browsing Inquirer's website awhile ago and I bumped into this headline: Who wants Archie to get married?

I've been a fan ever since I started reading the well-loved comics at the age of seven. I've always loved the girl next door personality of Betty and she's always nicer than Veronica, who seems to be the villain in my kiddie innocence. I did, however, change gears when I entered my preteen years - Veronica always got what she wanted as easy as pie and Betty suddenly seemed like a loser to me.

I then realized that the two girls are at the opposite ends of a line. Sure, they're both girls but they have their own personality that attracts Archie to each girl. The undying love triangle in the story has always been fun to read and while it's repeatedly fed into the comic books, it never gets tiring to me. It will even be celebrated in their 600th issue, with a 6 part series on the possibility of Archie getting married to each girl.

Now who's for Betty and who's for Veronica?

Better Late Than Never!

Some official looking photos from last week's Premier Collection D. A quick rundown of the collections I liked the most:

Ciege Cagalawan's fresh spin on feminine is unforgettable

Interesting play with prints and patterns by Dimple Lim. The headpieces gave the collection a quirky touch!

Edwin Uy shows his take on formal and evening wear

I couldn't find photos of Kermit Tesoro's collection online but one thing I could definitely say though: he's got skills! His gray-black collection showed a lot of promise with statement shoes, structured pieces and sequins. A bit futuristic for my taste but they're still wearable!

Wake Up Call

I woke up this morning with a text message from Cee:

It's better to cross the line and suffer the consequences, than just stare at the line for the rest of your life.

What now?

Around 5:30PM today, I received a text message from my blockmate saying that DLSU announced its first A(H1N1) case. According to her, it was also announced that the campus will be shut down until June 14 to avoid spreading the virus and to protect the rest of the community.

Scary? Unbelievable? WTH? Yes, yes and yes.

I never thought it'd get that close and actually hit the campus. Knowing how one out of the thousand Lasallians got infected made me realize that the virus is really out there and it can affect anyone. I have no idea who that unfortunate student is and I'm praying that she did not spread the virus in school... 'cause if she did, then we're all at risk.

I have so many questions going in my mind. It's a scary thought but what if I encountered that person in school? What if my friends, GMG peers or my classmates encountered her? What's gonna happen with first term, now that all of us will be missing one whole week of school? Should I get a flu shot now? Should we start wearing masks when we go back to school? I guess the only answer is to pray and hope for the best.

You've already won me over

It's been a gloomy and dragging day. It's also been scary and shocking - but more on that later, in my next post (click!)

Forever 21 beret, Zara cardigan, Ms.16 white tee, Herbench light wash skinny jeans, CMG ballet flats

One good thing that happened today though: kung si Cee may good morning, ako may good afternoon. Yun na. :))

Re-offender

When I say no, I mean no. When I say I don't like what you're doing, I want you to stop doing it. Is that hard to comprehend?

I know how you feel like you're just being you but you cross the line sometimes. I try to be more patient, to not really get pissed at "small" things like those, because I know it's part of who you are and I can't change that. But I am me after all and I have my limits, limits which I'm sure I've voiced out more than once. I wish you'd really listen - and not just plain listen, then go and do the same thing all over again.

OME alert!

Gah, I hate the OME thing hahaha. Here's something that would make the fans of Twilight saga shriek with joy - and perhaps, scream OME!: the New Moon trailer, officially released last night.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON trailer in HD

Woot, woot! This one looks better than the first movie. :P

If you're lost, you can look and you will find me

I'm off to school! Why so early? I need to photocopy a lot of stuff before class, haha. I had fun dressing up this morning though - it's a bit cold, so I took the opportunity to dress up a bit:

Black blazer from my mom, Herbench printed top, lavender spag top from my sister, Betty leggings and Herbench slip ons
